A considered career step for a coffee specialist: a specialty roaster in Far North Queensland is appointing several Baristas in Cairns and seeks energetic, highly motivated professionals who take the craft seriously.
The role leads the coffee programme, with a steady focus on drink quality and efficiency, coaching for those alongside you and a hand in new products. The working week is full-time, 5am to 2pm, Monday to Friday, with weekends on offer.
Employee sponsorship is available for these positions under the Far North Queensland Designated Area Migration Agreement (FNQ DAMA).

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the barista team
- Ensure each guest receives a genuine, efficient, first-class coffee experience
- Conduct QC cupping sessions in close collaboration with the roasters and help with green bean purchasing selections
- Roast for production as needed
- Maintain WH&S standards across the space
Requirements & Eligibility
- Specialty coffee knowledge in depth, with experience; Q-grader, cupping, barista competition, barista training and/or roasting experience is highly advantageous
- Proven leadership and team-building skills
- A love of people and customer service
- Strong time management and organisational skills, with a growth mindset
- Willingness to start at 5am
