Whether your care experience was built in Dubai, Doha or closer to home, this is a considered, full-time step into disability support in New Zealand. A community living trust near Dunedin is appointing Support Workers to its Permanent Relief Team, on 40 hours per week.
The setting is residential and personal. You would help people with learning disabilities enjoy fulfilling, independent lives in a calm, safe and homely environment, guided by the trust's focus on person-centred care, inclusion and community connection. Shifts span days, afternoons, evenings, awake nights, split shifts and weekends.
As an accredited employer, the trust is prepared to support AEWV sponsorship for appropriately experienced and qualified candidates, and the role is approved at skill level 4. It is intended for applicants already in New Zealand with work rights.

Key Responsibilities
- Support each resident's daily routine, including shopping and meal preparation
- Assist with household tasks
- Provide personal care with respect and safety
- Accompany community activities and outings
- Encourage independence, choice and wellbeing
- Follow support plans closely and keep accurate records
Requirements & Eligibility
- A respectful, person-centred manner when supporting people with learning disabilities
- Good common sense
- Confidence working independently
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, alongside good computer skills
- Experience as a Support Worker / Caregiver / Healthcare Assistant in NZ, or a Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (Level 2 or higher)
- Availability for weekends and a variety of shifts
- A full New Zealand driver's licence (essential), plus the right to work in New Zealand
