A considered career step for an experienced plant operator, with an award-winning civil and earthworks contractor in Queenstown that has 25 years of experience building its region and is now recruiting skilled equipment operators for its earthworks team.
The work is practical and varied, from excavation and filling to carting and compaction, and on to shaping ground for retaining walls and residential and commercial developments. The post is permanent, with consistent hours from a minimum of 30 to typically 50 a week; applicants not already based in the area should be willing to move there before applying.
The employer is an Immigration NZ accredited employer and can sponsor work visas. The role requires applicants already based in New Zealand as a citizen, resident or holder of a current open work visa.

Key Responsibilities
- Safe, efficient operation of bulldozers, dump trucks, compactors and water carts, and excavation, filling, carting and compaction of earth, rock and other materials
- Preparation and shaping of construction sites
Requirements & Eligibility
- 2 years working in civil construction or similar
- WTR endorsement and a full Class 2 licence
- Safety-first mindset, flexible attitude, strong work ethic
- NZ citizen, NZ resident, or holder of a current open NZ work visa
- Desirable: experience driving trucks or other machinery, plus a Class 4 licence, compaction knowledge and NDM testing certification
